Lunar Eclipse in Libra April 04

This month's full moon in Libra is heightened by the lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses are a time of upheaval, letting go, revelations and adjustments. Things that were once buried may come to light including any pent up emotions. This may lead to revelations in partnerships, especially as the full moon in Libra highlights this area. This is not just in romantic partnerships, but any business or creative ones. This does not necessarily mean something negative comes to light, it could be the coming together in a realization - an aha moment that transforms it to a new level.
Full moons occur in the sign opposite of the sun. This Full moon is opposite Aries, the sign of the self, so it is s great time to one to terms with balancing your independence and togetherness in a relationship.

The lunar eclipse this month is also energized as it forms a T square with Uranus and Pluto, the planets of sudden change and insight and transformation, respectively. Watch out for upheavals and upsets around this time. They are for the best in the long run, but it may catch you by surprise. Just remember to stay open and flexible this week.
If you have any planets12 - 18 degrees in you natal chart in the cardinal signs (Aries,Cancer,Libra or Capricorn), you will especially feel the changes this week. Lunar eclipse energy is active the two days before and three after (April 02-07), so keep this in mind for the Easter weekend coming up.

Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle Review

About a month ago I received the Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle by Lucy Cavendish. I had seen this deck on a couple of Youtube tarot readers channels and loved the artwork so thought I would check it out for myself.

Artwork and Design
The art in this deck is colourful and stunning. The images are fantastical and imaginative. I usually am not a fan of computer generated art, but this one I actually do like as it is not altered photos and more painterly. I also like the keywords on the bottom which are not overly distracting, but still a good reminder. And the borders are not too distracting either.
I also own two of the Brian Froud fairy decks which has a more wild fairy feel. This one is a more storybook feel. I enjoy both decks, but they do have a different energy to them.
The backing art features the seven pointed fairy star. This unfortunately makes it easier to tell when it is reversed. I get around this by closing my eyes when picking the cards.

Companion Book
I was impressed by the size of the companion book. Each card has a fairly large explanation of the symbolism in the card, plus a divinatory meaning for both upright and reversed. Lucy's style of writing seems to be a little more directed at a younger crowd, but I still enjoyed that the book is thorough in descriptions of the cards and provides several layouts for using them.

The box the deck came in is a little flimsy for storing the deck and Bol in. It was well packaged in that I liked that the book slid out along with a box that had an indent for the cards, but I won't be keeping it to store them. I will have to find a bag or box for the cards.

Size and Weight
The cards are larger than your average deck, so may be a little difficult for shuffling for some. The weight of the cards could also be better but it could be worse too. I would say it's just okay.

The cards read well, as the messages I found to be pertinent to the questions. I especially like using them in conjunction with tarot, though they do a good job reading on their own.
I enjoy the artwork and the meanings, but the packaging and card stock could be improved. All in all 4 out of 5 for me.

Spirit Seekers Conference

As mentioned in my March update, I attended the annual Spirit Seekers conference here in Winnipeg last weekend. Here's my review of it. I will definitely be attending next year as I had such a good time.

March Update

Just thought I'd do a quick update for the month of March. This month has flown by quickly for me. It is almost over and I feel like it had just started! On the bright side that means winter is coming to an end just as rapidly. Don't get me wrong, I like winter, but by the time I get to March I'm pretty much done. This year spring seems to have come early as the snow here on the Canadian prairies is mostly melted. Last year we still had several feet of snow and it was quite cold. Most days these past two weeks have been above freezing.
That being said, it's time to put the winter coats and boots away and bring out the spring ones. My boots have had the bun pretty much, so I have been shopping for new ones. I was looking for Demonias online, but many have very high heels that aren't practical for day to day use. I finally found a pair I really like that are "unisex" but trying to find free or low cost shipping to Canada is difficult. Some sites say it is free, then you put in your address and suddenly it's $50! I guess I may have to suck it up if I want the boots.

Besides looking for new spring wear this month, I had the privilege of attending this years Spirit Seekers Conference last week at the hotel Fort Gary. It's a two day new age and metaphysical conference held on the weekend of spring equinox each year. I took loads of classes on everything from spiritual protection, working with Angels, mediumship and Fire reading. I think I will do a separate post on each of those topics and maybe even make a video on fire reading. It was really different and something I might add to my repertoire. Let me know if you are interested. Here are some pics of the event.

Finally I also launched my new website See here and got some business cards made. I'm making progress on my business, and enjoying seeing it begin to form and take life. It is making me very excited for my future. :)

Weekly Reading and Unboxing

Below I have attached my two latest videos. I recieved a long awaited package this week. I had pre-ordered it in November, but it wasn't to be released until the end of December, then the release date got pushed back even further so I wasn't holding my breathe it would arrive anytime soon. Needless to say I was excited when it did finally arrive last week - The Beautiful Creatures Tarot by Jasmine Beckett-Griffith.

I also am the weekly horoscope tarot reading using the new deck, in case you are interested in what is in store this week, or just want a closer look at the cards.

the Intuitive Tag

This week for my vlog I did "The Intuitive Tag" which is going around the witchy, and psychic channels. I personally think we all have intuition, I just think some people pay attention to it and develop this skill more than others. It's just like any other skill like drawing or being able to learn languages, you have to practice to acquire and keep these skills up. I also think some people are more naturally talented at it or it comes easier to some than others. It also gets expressed differently too. I think I am better at clairvoyance (seeing things) than clairaudience (hearing things) but I have been known to do both.

If you haven't done this yet, consider yourself tagged! Put your link in the comments. I'd love to check it out!

What's For Lunch? Corp Goth Mid Month Status Report

This month's Corp Goth mid month report asks "what's for lunch?" I work a 9-5 office job Monday to Friday, so I usually take my lunch around 1pm and I pack a lunch for the day and a snack most weekdays. I bring a small refillable bottle of veg/fruit juice for a morning pick me up,and a Jello lemon meringue flavoured pudding (my favourite flavour) for an afternoon snack.
I take my lunch alone most days as I answer phones and talk to people so I feel like I need a break to read and just have a little quiet time. My lunch often consists of a salad (ceasar or southwest). I buy a couple of the bagged salads at the store and divide them in half so that I get four out of two bags. I bring a piece of fruit - this week it is plumcot, an amazingly delicious franken fruit combining plums and apricots - yum. I also have a yogurt in my lunch, usually a citrus flavour. I'm a fan of lemon, lime and orange yogurts.

Once a week I go out for lunch, usually on Fridays. There is a Subway in the building which I sometimes go to if I forget or am too busy to pack a lunch. But on Fridays I like to go to one of the nearby restaurants for something different. Working downtown, there are lots of options, especially with a mall right nearby. One of my Favourites is a local place called Bodegoes . It has wraps, burritos, noodle boxes, fries, and also cupcakes from another local place Cakeology.. My favourite thing is either the chicken peanut noodles or the falafel wrap. I'll often grab a cupcake on these days as my afternoon snack. :)

In summer the choices get even better. A block away from my office is a major street where various food trucks line up for blocks, adding up to a huge variety of choices. My two favourites are the Habanero Sombrero and the Red Ember . The first serves authentic Mexican tacos. These are so delicious on a hot summer day!

The Red Ember is the largest food truck in Winnipeg (it's one of the largest in the world). It actually has two levels and has a wood fired oven inside it. Not just visually impressive, they churn out delicious pizza with all locally sourced ingredients.
Needless to say I am looking forward to summer when I can have so much culinary variety so close at hand. And every year there are new trucks to try out.

For now though, I'm trying to keep it healthy and balanced.
Looking forward to reading about all the other Corp Goth lunches!

I Have a Website!

I'm excited to announce that I finally got off my butt and made myself a website! I did have one before for my artwork, but it wasn't quite what I wanted. I wanted to create one for my business that shows not only my artwork, but the tarot readings and other oracle card readings I offer. It links to my Etsy store and to the local metaphysical shop Radiance Gifts that I read at on Sundays. I'm really excited to finally have a website that I think reflects me so well. I also ordered business cards too! I feel so official.
It was fun designing both of these. I went through Wix for the website and Zazzle for the business cards. Both these sites are great for designing and customizing yourself, even if you have limited knowledge of web design. They really make it easy, but I think it helps if you have a design in your head when you go into it so you know exactly what you want. I'll link the website here.
Let me know what you think. :)

February Haul

I posted this on Youtube earlier this week, but I thought I would include it on the blog as well. I bought a couple of books this month - E3 by Pam Grout and the Dream Dictionary Theresa Cheung.  E3 is a book about manifestation, experiments in intention. So far I'm having fun with it, though I haven't finished all the experiments. The dream dictionary is pretty good as it refers to mythology and Jungian archetypes, which I find very helpful. I also purchased couple of decks this month. The first was the Angel Therapy Cards by Doreen Virtue. The deck I find to be quite general and I use it in conjunction with tarot rather than on its own. The next one is the Revelations tarot which came out in the mid 2000s . It's a great deck for learning reversals as it has a picture for both right side up and upside down. Finally I got the Wild Wisdom of the Fairies Oracle by Lucy Cavendish. It is a lovely fairy themed oracle deck. If you like working with the fey, you'll love this beautiful deck.

Weekly Reading For Each Sign

This week I thought I would try something different. A few of the card readers I follow on YouTube do weekly card readings where they pull usually three cards for the week. These are very general readings for the overall energy of the week. I did this last week but thought that was a little too general. I was thinking about how to make it more specific, when I thought about horoscopes. So I did a weekly reading for each sign of the zodiac. Please pay attention to not only your sun sign, but your rising sign too, as everyone is more than just a sun sign. Please let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more.
